This study aims to propose a methodology for a hybrid wind–solar power plant with the optimal contribution of renewable energy resources
Solar energy and wind power supply are renewable, decentralised and intermittent electrical power supply methods that require energy storage. Integrating this renewable energy supply to the electrical power grid may reduce the demand for centralised production, making renewable energy systems more easily available to remote regions.
Solar and wind facilities use the energy stored in batteries to reduce power fluctuations and increase reliability to deliver on-demand power. Battery storage systems bank excess energy when demand is low and release it when demand is high, to ensure a steady supply of energy to millions of homes and businesses.
An integrated wind, solar, and energy storage (IWSES) plant has a far better generation profile than standalone wind or solar plants. It results in better use of the transmission evacuation system, which, in turn, provides a lower overall plant cost compared to standalone wind and solar plants of the same generating capacity.
