Starlink Ground Station Locations (2025)
Starlink, to deliver internet connectivity to its users, relies on a system of ground stations called gateways. These gateways act as an interlink
The primary legislation governing the telecoms sector in Italy is D.lgs. No. 259/2003, the Electronic Communications Code (' Codice delle Comunicazioni Elettroniche ', 'CCE'), as recently reshaped by the D.Lgs. No. 207/2021, which implemented Directive EU 2018/1972 establishing the European Electronic Communications Code.
The Department of Telecommunications (Comunicazioni) within the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy (Ministero delle Imprese e del Made in Italy) is responsible for planning and implementing Italy's national digital connectivity plan and telecommunications infrastructures.
Italy played a special role in the ACE High Network. No less than 19 stations, including seven main stations, were located in the country. In the North the Alps had to be crossed, in the South (towards Greece) the Mediterranean Sea. At the time this was only possible with huge antennas at high altitudes.
The Italian Strategy for Ultra Broadband Towards the Gigabit Society (May 2021) has seven intervention areas: a) Plan for white areas, b) Voucher plan, c) Plan Italy 1 Giga, d) Italy 5G Plan, e) Connected Schools Plan, g) Connected Health Plan, and h) Minor Islands Plan.
The technicians were trained at the NATO Communications and Information Systems School (NCISS) in Latina, Italy, which was founded in 1959 specifically for ACE High. This training center continues to train NATO telecommunications technicians today. The crew had been accommodated in a two-story building.
No less than 19 stations, including seven main stations, were located in the country. In the North the Alps had to be crossed, in the South (towards Greece) the Mediterranean Sea. At the time this was only possible with huge antennas at high altitudes. This is why Station D. was built in the Italian Alps.
