Report 2021
The electrical energy produced by the 64 active wind farms in 2021 was 11.8 TWh. That is an increase of 19% from the year before, despite lower-than-normal wind resource
Norway has vast potential for floating offshore wind development and strong offshore industrial expertise, which can be applied in the emerging floating wind industry. The Norwegian government has announced that it will allocate areas for offshore wind power to 30,000 MW by 2040.
The offshore wind field Utsira Nord is located here, one of two areas that the Norwegian authorities have opened for the development of offshore wind. The area, with its sea depths, proximity to large industrial plans and unique wind conditions, is very well suited for floating offshore wind.
Nordvegen Vind will, through Utsira Nord, contribute to developing a world-class offshore wind industry. Norway has vast potential for floating offshore wind development and strong offshore industrial expertise, which can be applied in the emerging floating wind industry.
Together, we will create a world-class offshore wind industry. Nordvegen Vind is based on the historical site located close to Utsira, Nordvegen, that is considered to be the birthplace of Norway. Nordvegen Vind has an ambition to put Norway on the map yet again by developing a leading floating wind project at Utsira Nord.
